The Charleston Battery are pleased to announce Tuesday the addition of Tim Daniels to the club’s coaching staff. Daniels will serve as an assistant coach on Ben Pirmann’s staff.
Daniels, 30, arrives in Charleston after spending the previous four seasons as assistant coach for Landon Donovan and Nate Miller at San Diego Loyal SC. He assisted in creating and running training sessions, match preparation, film and statistical analysis, and scouting, helping San Diego make three consecutive playoff appearances.
“The Battery are such a historic club in an amazing city, my family is excited to join and be a part of the community here,” said Daniels. “I’m looking forward to joining this team with a group of players who work hard to improve every single day and fight extremely hard to win. I’ve been really impressed already by the high energy and intensity that the staff and players bring every day.”
“Tim has had tremendous experiences in the USL and is a tireless worker,” said Head Coach Ben Pirmann. “He has a great understanding of our league and is ready to put his stamp on our club to help us be the best version of ourselves.
“Tim is selfless and enthusiastic to improve, and I am excited to learn from him. He has a great ability to connect with players and help them elevate their game daily.”
A native of Wheaton, Ill., Daniels made previous coaching stops in Michigan at Spring Arbor University, Lansing United and Lansing Ignite FC. Daniels is an alumnus of Taylor University, where he was an All-America selection and a three-year captain of the men’s soccer team.
“I’m eager to see the players showcase their quality as we begin this journey together and throughout the entire season,” said Daniels. “The level of competition from the players during the first week of preseason training was very high.”
