The USL Championship announced Tuesday that Charleston Battery midfielder Houssou Landry was named to the league’s Week 19 Team of the Week.
It’s a deserved honor for Houssou, who was a standout performer in the Battery’s dramatic 1-2 road win over New Mexico.
Houssou was an enforcer in the double pivot and led the match in tackles won (three), recoveries (11) and duels won (15). The Ivorian also tallied two successful dribbles, two clearances and a match-high six fouls won. Houssou was the top-rated player by FotMob.com for the game (8.3 out of 10)
The selection to the Team of the Week is Houssou’s third of the year, and brings the Battery’s season total to 18.
Charleston’s next match will be at home vs. Miami FC on Sat., July 19. Tickets for the East Coast clash are on sale now via SeatGeek.com, the club’s exclusive digital ticketing provider.
