The Charleston Battery and Redwood Materials are proud to announce Tuesday a community recycling event aimed at promoting clean energy and sustainability in the Lowcountry.
On Sat., July 19, prior to kickoff of Charleston’s home match that day, fans are invited to take part in a lithium-ion battery recycling drive at Patriots Point. The event starts at 4:30 p.m. ET.
Fans can bring devices like old cell phones, tablets and laptops, power tool batteries, electric toothbrushes, and wireless headphones. The initiative offers a unique opportunity for the Charleston community to contribute to a cleaner future.
Redwood Materials, a pioneer in sustainable battery recycling, is working to build a closed-loop battery supply chain by recovering valuable materials from old electronics and repurposing them for use in electric vehicles and energy storage.
As a token of appreciation for supporting the cause and helping create a cleaner future, the club is offering free match tickets for July 19 in exchange for the donations.
