In celebration of Independence Day weekend, the Charleston Battery unveiled the Old Glory Warmup Kit which will be worn prior to kickoff of the Battery’s match on Sun., July 6, against North Carolina FC. Designed by the club and produced by and hummel®, the shirt features several nods to American and South Carolina history during the Revolutionary War.

The special-edition kit’s colors are the same red and blue donned on Old Glory.
On the sleeve ends are 13 stars for the original 13 colonies from the American Revolution. An additional set of four stars, two on each sleeve, are representative of the Battery’s four league titles.
On the bottom is the Moultrie Flag, or Liberty Flag, which was flown in South Carolina during the Revolutionary War. It became an iconic symbol of South Carolina during the American fight for independence, as it was flown by Col. William Moultrie’s troops in the successful defense of Sullivan’s Island against the British fleet on June 28, 1776. It is also known as the first American flag to fly in the South after the war, and later inspired the state’s current flag.

To complete the look, the current U.S. flag is along the back of the neck of the shirt and there is additional red, white, and blue trim along the collar and sleeves.
Fans can purchase the jersey now at shop.charlestonbattery.com, with local pickup available July 1 through July 3, and can currently bid on the player-worn and autographed jerseys from the July 6 game.
Kickoff for the July 6 game is 5 p.m. ET and tickets can be purchased via SeatGeek.com, the club’s exclusive digital ticketing provider, where limited quantities of the jerseys will be available.
