The Charleston Battery and The Ideal Life are pleased to announce Thursday the expansion of the partnership between the two organizations. A key component of the enhanced collaboration will see The Ideal Life feature as the front-of-kit sponsor on the Battery’s 2024 Secondary Kit and become further integrated as a partner of the club.
The Ideal Life will also remain a fixture on the 2024 Primary Kit as the club’s official sleeve sponsor. Battery fans will get their first look at The Ideal Life’s presence on both kits during the official launch on March 4.
“We are proud to further align the Charleston Battery brand with The Ideal Life, a Charleston-based company with an emphasis on growth mindset and maximizing performance,” said Battery president Lee Cohen. “Having their presence on the front of our jersey provides a synergy and staying power for years to come.”
“I am excited about our partnership with the Battery because of how their mission aligns with what we are trying to do at The Ideal Life, both locally and across the country,” said Mark Congdon, founder and CEO of The Ideal Life. “By investing in this staple of the Charleston community, we can help the Battery make a positive impact on the lives of our neighbors. And through supporting the success that the Battery continues to have in the USL, that impact will certainly transcend to people near and far.”
After a successful inaugural year, the Community Hero initiative, presented by The Ideal Life, will return to home matches in 2024. The award recognizes an individual or group whose efforts positively impact others in the Lowcountry with a halftime ceremony and donation presentation from The Ideal Life.
The first Community Hero of 2024 will be honored during the club’s home opener on March 23. Amanda Gorman, the Battery’s director of ticket operations, is the first Community Hero honoree as the winner of the Betsy McAdams Award from the previous season. The Betsy McAdams Award recognizes a person who best displays exemplary qualities of the game of soccer, community involvement, sportsmanship and contributions to the club.
The Ideal Life will also return as the sponsor of the Suite Boxes at Patriots Point, the club’s premium all-inclusive group space in the southwest corner of the stadium, just steps away from the field.
“We look forward to working more with Mark, Hutson, Brad, Karissa and the rest of The Ideal Life team again in 2024,” said Cohen. “They’ll play a key role as we continue to develop and strengthen our organization, on and off the field, with the guidance of their coaches and resources to help us continue pursuing and achieving our goals.”
“As we deepen our partnership with the Battery, we’re thrilled to expand our work beyond the front office organizational consulting and into the realm of the sporting department,” said Hutson Dodds, VP of strategic relations for The Ideal Life. “By integrating our innovative I GOT This Framework with traditional sports psychology, we aim to empower players with the mental resilience needed to excel on and off the pitch. This expanded partnership underscores our commitment to fostering peak performance and holistic growth within the club.”
The Battery kick off their defense of their Eastern Conference title on March 9, away against North Carolina FC. Charleston’s home opener is set for March 23, when the Battery host New Mexico United in the Black and Yellow Derby.
