The Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup returns to Charleston when the Battery host USL League One side South Georgia Tormenta FC on April 6 at Patriots Point. Tickets for the Second Round fixture of the annual national knockout cup competition are on sale now.
The 107th edition of the U.S. Open Cup returns after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
“It’s a great tournament, great format, I think everybody has missed it and I’m happy to see it return,” said Battery Head Coach Conor Casey.
Fans will recall the Battery’s rich history of success in the annual competition with two semifinal appearances, three quarterfinal appearances, and being the most recent second division pro club to reach the Open Cup Final, in 2008 against DC United.
Kickoff for the Second Round match against Tormenta is set for 7 p.m. ET. Tickets are on sale now via SeatGeek.com, the Battery’s official digital ticketing provider.

To celebrate the return of the Open Cup to the Lowcountry, the Battery are providing a limited 843 tickets to the April 6 match for only $8.43. Season Member Exclusive Access
With the 2022 season underway, Battery Season Members continue to enjoy a host of exclusive access and benefits. Members with parking passes for the 2022 season will additionally be able to use those passes for the Cup match.
