The Battery are proud to announce Nicque Daley’s return for a third year in the Black and Yellow after a 2020 season that saw the young forward significantly increase his goal production. The U-20 Jamaican International will look to keep up his attacking presence in front of the goal in the 2021 season.
In 2020, Daley had 12 starts in 16 total appearances, collecting 958 minutes on the pitch. His firepower increased in the latter half of the season, ending with 6 goals to his name, as he tied Zeiko Lewis with a team leading 6 goals.
Nicque was a bright spot during a 4-3 loss against The Miami FC on September 30 as the forward scored twice in the first half, registering his first professional brace. He would find his sixth and final goal scoring three minutes into the first round of the USL Championship playoffs against a tough Charlotte side, helping the Battery advance after winning in extra time.
Daley’s 2020 performances proved the speedy forward’s ability to catch defenses off guard and a knack for timing his runs behind the back line. He’ll look to do the same and more as the 2021 season approaches.
