Charleston Battery announced its 2020 preseason schedule Friday morning. The preseason tour, which includes trips to Melbourne, Florida and Greenville, South Carolina, will kick off against Minnesota United on February 5th and conclude on February 28th against Tormenta FC.
Charleston’s preseason is highlighted by a trip to Fort Lauderdale, Florida to take on Major League Soccer newcomers, Inter Miami CF on February 7th. Led by English soccer legend David Beckham, Inter Miami CF are set to play their first season in MLS, opening their regular season against Los Angeles FC. The match will take place at the Inter Miami CF Training Complex and will be closed to the public. Charleston will be the first team to face Inter Miami CF in a live match.
Charleston will play a home and away match with USL League One side Greenville Triumph SC on February 15th, away at Greenville and on February 19th, at Patriots Point. In addition to hosting the Triumph, Charleston Battery will play the College of Charleston and Coastal Carolina at Patriots Point. All home preseason matches will be played behind closed doors.
