Charleston Battery midfielder Justin Portillo will miss the remainder of the 2016 USL season after team medical staff diagnosed that he is suffering from acute appendicitis.
Portillo was released from MUSC Hospital on Friday after surgery and will be sidelined for the Battery’s Saturday night USL match versus NYRBII and for the duration of the 2016 USL playoffs.
The 24-year old has been in excellent form for the Battery for the past few months with 6 goals and 4 assists in 26 games played.
