The Charleston Battery revealed its full preseason schedule Thursday afternoon. The preseason slate includes matches against Major League Soccer clubs Columbus Crew SC, Chicago Fire, and FC Cincinnati in the Carolina Challenge Cup.
The Battery will play local college teams College of Charleston and Coastal Carolina University the week prior and the week following Challenge Cup. The Battery’s current roster features players from both universities; Nico Rittmeyer and Leland Archer are College of Charleston alumni and Romario Piggott is a recent graduate from Coastal.
Charleston will close out the preseason against USL Championship side North Carolina FC on March 2 at WakeMed Soccer Park.
