Arturo enters his third season with the Black and Yellow after initially signing with the club in March 2023.
The 26-year-old enjoyed plenty of success in his second year with the Battery. Rodriguez ended 2024 with three goals and six assists in 29 matches across all competitions. The midfielder had the third-most chances created on the team (43), along with 17 tackles won, 31 successful driblbles and 153 duels won, in USL Championship play.
In his first season, Rodriguez made a grand introduction to Charleston fans in his third game with the club when he scored the match-winning goal at the death against Hartford Athletic on April 8. Rodríguez sent in a free-kick that curled through the rain and past everyone, making a timely bounce in the six-yard box and then into the net.
Rodríguez ended 2023 leading the club in chances created (44) across the regular season and playoffs. He additionally scored four goals and five assists across 27 Championship matches. This includes the two goals and two assists he had in the playoffs, with one of the goals coming via a sensational free kick in the Eastern Conference Final to help the Battery lift the trophy.
Arturo spent the prior two seasons with Phoenix Rising FC, tallying six goals and eight assists in 53 league contests. Rodríguez was a leader in Phoenix’s forward movement, registering 38 chances created in 2022 (third-most on the team) and 52 in 2021 (fourth-most).
A native of San Luis Potosí, Mexico, the midfielder’s breakout campaign came in 2019 with North Texas SC in USL League One. He took home the league’s MVP and Young Player of the Year honors in addition to claiming the League One title, even scoring the game-winning goal against Greenville Triumph SC in the League One Final.
Rodríguez’s first taste of the USL Championship came during a brief loan spell in 2020 with Real Monarchs for two matches. Prior to signing with North Texas, Rodríguez earned a spot in FC Dallas’ academy and began to make an impact immediately.
