The USL Championship announced Tuesday that Charleston Battery forward Maalique Foster was named to the league’s Week 22 Team of the Week following the Battery’s 5-0 victory over Brooklyn FC on August 1.
The Jamaican winger turned in a stellar performance that was emblematic of Charleston’s overall dominant showing at Patriots Point.
Foster recorded one goal and one assist against Brooklyn, with his goal being the result of his effective pressure before halftime, and his assist to Laurent Kissiedou ensuring the Battery stayed in complete control after the interval. Defensively, Foster recorded five duels won, three recoveries, one clearance and one tackle won.
It’s Foster’s second Team of the Week nod of the year, and the Battery have now earned 13 Team of the Week/Round selections in 2026.
Miguel Berry earned an honorable mention to the Team of the Week Bench after also turning in a strong night at the office with one goal and one assist.
Charleston’s next two matches will be away, against Loudoun United FC (August 8) and Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC (August 15). The Battery’s next home game will be on Sat., Aug. 22, against Miami FC. Tickets for the match are on sale now via SeatGeek.com, the club’s exclusive digital ticketing provider.
