The USL Championship announced Tuesday that Charleston Battery midfielder Aaron Molloy was selected to the league’s Week 6 Team of the Week. The honor caps of Molloy’s standout showing in the victory over Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC.
Juan David Torres earned an honorable mention to the Team of the Week Bench after recording an assist and match-highs for successful dribbles (four) and chances created (four).
Molloy played a critical role in the Battery’s comeback win over Pittsburgh, scoring the equalizer in the 67th minute with a sensational strike to the top corner.
Beyond the goal, Molloy was active in all phases of the game. The Irish midfielder registered 66 completed passes (match high), two tackles won, one clearance, one interception, one block, six duels won and 12 recoveries.
