The Charleston Battery announced Thursday the club has renewed their partnership with the Charleston chapter of Soccer Shots, a youth soccer development organization. The partnership will see a host of collaborations between the two organizations at Patriots Point in 2024.
The club and Soccer Shots Charleston will co-host two summer soccer camps, June 24 – 28 and July 29 – August 2, at Patriots Point for kids aged 4 – 12 years old, led by highly-trained Soccer Shots coaches, with registration now open at charleston.soccershots.com/battery.
Additionally, there will be a chance to win free entry to the camp during regular season Battery matches by entering to win the giveaway at the Kids Pitch in the stadium.
The camps are designed for young players to improve their soccer skills, have fun, build character and be inspired to dream big in soccer. With a weekly theme, daily skills and daily character-building words, every camper is guaranteed to be engaged at their age-appropriate level.
“Each day, campers will improve on multiple soccer skills, learn character development, and have a fun and age-appropriate environment to continue to grow as people and as soccer players,” said Joey Gorman, owner of Soccer Shots Charleston. “I have seen firsthand how these camps have inspired young players to pursue higher levels of competition and we are excited to be a part of what the Battery are doing in growing the soccer community.
“I am most excited about our continued collaboration in offering camps that are the only ones in Charleston to grant access to the Battery first-team training, player autographs, a ticket to a game and the complete professional environment of the club.”
Soccer Shots is currently offering an eight-week Saturday morning spring clinic (with registration open to new campers) and will hold a six-week Saturday morning clinic this summer at the Kids Pitch inside the Battery’s stadium.
