Jozy Altidore played in Carolina Challenge Cup as a 19-year old with the New York Red Bulls in 2008. Following his time with the Red Bulls, Altidore went on to play in La Liga, the English Premier League, and Eredivisie before returning to MLS with Toronto FC.

Prior to his appearance at Challenge Cup, Altidore was named U.S. Soccer Young Male Athlete of the Year in 2006. After claiming the MLS Supporters’ Shield, Altidore helped Toronto win the MLS Cup in 2017, notching the game-winning goal and earning the MLS Cup MVP award. Altidore has been named an MLS All-Star twice in his career.
