Major League Soccer Challenge Cup Finale Saturday
Charleston, SC. The Charleston Battery plays Major League Soccer’s Toronto F.C. Saturday night at Blackbaud Stadium; kick off is set for 6 PM ($15 - $25, 971-GOAL / www.charlestonbattery.com). The game is the Battery’s final match of the 2008 Carolina Challenge Cup; the New York Red Bulls take on the San Jose Earthquakes in the tournament finale, kick off in that game is scheduled for 8:15 PM.

Charleston is still looking for its first win of the tournament, the Battery tied New York 1-1 in a game played last Sunday afternoon, then on Wednesday night Charleston could not hold onto a 1-0 lead as the San Jose Earthquakes rallied to a come-from-behind 2-1 win.

Charleston is playing for a potential 2nd place finish in the tournament but needs to defeat Toronto to stand a chance. Toronto could also finish second but will also need to win the game in addition to San Jose tying or defeating New York in the second match.

The Charleston Battery squad will be bolstered on Saturday with the return to fitness of striker Lester Moré. Moré has struggled with injury during the early part of pre-season but played the first 45 minutes of a reserve game on Thursday. Forward Randi Patterson will also be available for selection after returning from national team duty with Trinidad.

Toronto F.C is also looking for its first win of the tournament having lost the opener versus San Jose last weekend and tying with New York on Wednesday night. Saturday’s game is Toronto’s final tune-up before they begin the MLS regular season next Saturday night versus the Columbus Crew.

Easter Egg Hunt
There will be a massive Easter Egg hunt for the children during half-time of the Battery vs Toronto match on Saturday night. Children will be separated for the Easter Egg Hunt by age; the event is scheduled to take place on the Blackbaud Stadium pitch.
