Our Mission
The mission of the Regiment is to make noise in support of the Charleston Battery. We shall not rest until the Battery repeat as USL champions. No rest for the wicked, and that means YOU dammit! If you're brave, energetic and think you can hack it, come on over and join members of The Regiment and E10underground and make some noise for your boys! Yeah, I stole that from Osei Chandler, the voice of the Battery in the Stoney Field days. You know you remember, and if you don't shame on you! "Taking it back to the old school, 'cos I'm an old fool". Big up Augie - Let's go Battery!

2005 Southern Derby Results
Your Charleston Battery drew dead even with the Atlanta Silverbacks in the Southern Derby Cup competition, and in the event of a draw, the current champion retains the Cup. Atlanta lost in Charleston 1-2, and then the Batts lost in Atlanta 1-2. Away goals factor heavier, and had the lads drawn in Atlanta, the Cup would have come home. I know the guys from Atlanta who made the trip here are gloating like utter and total bastards!

Weekly Battery Bits
Well, shit. It was all looking as though it would come together. Portland lost, Atlanta lost - we were getting all the help we needed. We just didn't win on the road the final match. The Battery were mathematically eliminated from making the playoffs on Sunday night with the road loss at Virginia Beach.

I don't think I will ask for reactions from the Virginia Beach match ...

Krapakoff's "Column" in the P&C
I found a bunch of junk in a box, but guess what was in there?! The full-page complaint in the P&C written by the Battery owners about Gene "I'm as useless as Ken Burger" Sapakoff's anti-soccer column which was printed in 1994. If anyone wants it I might just scan it for this site.

REGIMENT PLAYER APPRECIATION PICNIC 2005
August 21, 2005 - Palmetto Islands County Park at the Big Oak Shelter .. food, fun games and more. If you missed this, you missed oppressive heat, great food (and beer) and Augie on the waterslide. (Whatever happened to the rookies making the trip?) Once the lads discovered the A/C in the shelter, it was adios Battery. Ha ha. We actually still had the Regiment Games, and I must report that Justin Evans' kickball team -defending champions- were defeated. Pictures coming soon! Join the Regiment next year to get your invitation to meet the players one-on-one over a burger. Just don't stand between Chris Doyle and Josh Smith when the food's ready - these guys do not mess around when it's vittles time!

Upcoming Games at Blackbaud
Sadly, the lads are finished with regular season matches and have been eliminated from the postseason.
| Remember to check the Battery website
for more details and to listen to next season's Battery Webcast for all road matches.

The REGIMENT says Thank You!
The Regiment thanks its members, E10 Underground and all the fans of the Charleston Battery for another season of strong and noisy support. Charleston is the premier football town in the Southeast, despite Ken Burger's inane commentary! Here's hoping that friggin meathead decides to keep his face shut about football and let the better journalists like our Andrew Bell, David Caraviello and Andrew Miller take care of the most vital sports writing in the P&C from now on..eh up football press!
