DAMN! We overcompensated and got WAAAY too many photos! |
Photos Description
Benjamin and Scooby chilling at the E10 tailgate. He wanted to try "that funny man's big hat". He's got 'Adios, amigos!' down, but still working on chanting in Spanish. 'Vamos, Batteria'...
Four of the usual suspects in the noisy section. Bill and Julie spent a weekend in Charleston, and Ismael and Angel are reveling in Mexico's win over Brasil in Copa Confederaciones. Me? I'm the shmuck with the camera ... great.
A rare pregame lineup photo. Most of the time we're working the crowds at the table and can't get this photo. It's a glimpse at the hoser visitors before they were ground into the pitch!
Angel enjoying some uptime in the sunshine, oh and the asswhoopin the lads gave the Whitecaps. Let's hear it for that old-school Battery clacker! Talk about collectible!
Jim shows off the product of all those dancing lessons .. either that or he was stung in the brain by a massive bee ..hadda 'bee' there I guess. har har
The E10 lads and lasses join in another chant - either that or we were berating the linesman for sodding another call ... it was rampant! Good job Brenda! Way to make the call Tammy!
More chanting, naturally. We all damn near succumbed to dehydration but for the generous donation of water from the Battery owners. We do sure appreciate it!
Larry drumming and chanting and, naturally, doing his best to make Tammy feel at home.
Here is the collection of national flags on display to honour and encourage the players from distant lands. Thanks to Bill and other members ot E10 Undeground for assembling them!
Here's another view of the action from E10. Right up close and tight with the weenies from the other team. Oh, and the ever present potential missed call ... har har.
This was the theme of the day ... Father's Day Football. Here a dad and his future star brush up on skills. They could have put on a clinic for the impotent attack of the Impact on this night!
Much to the terror of Benjamin, Ismael enjoys the extra protection that Scooby had to offer on this hot day. The boy plain freaked out! Not Ismael .. ha ha ha
Jonathan's dad just cannot believe that the Battery didn't score on this shot! Either that, or it was another brilliant call by the near linesman - again. Good show, Becky!
During the second half Nigel came over to check out the digs. Word is Jim's dancing drove him off, but Anthony was sure to mention how much we appreciated the water! Man, it was hot singing, chanting and making so much noise!
Here's the view from E10, just beyond Wellington's nugget. If you look closely, you can see that our pal, the near linesman Jennifer, is about to miss yet another call ...
Beer and chanting - it ain't for wimps folks! Here's Jim showing off his football fan physique. Just try and match him yell for yell, and soon you will die trying.
DANG! That thing is everywhere. Can't you just hear Steve McGibbon's trademark "SIDDOWN" if he sat behind this satellite dish of a hat? I thought you could ..
Here's a full frontal shot of Wellington ... better angle than the nugget shot above eh?
Here are E10 with the celebration after the final whistle. 2-0 was a great win to top off a 6-point weekend. The flags are in full display, the chanting continued and all the while Benjamin wants to go to the playground ...
See folks? It really does work .. here a long-time Regiment raffle winner shows that persistence can indeed pay dividends. Where else can you get an authentic Darren Warham game-worn jersey? Kit, Kim and Ismael revel in the glory that is giving ..
Believe it or not folks, these here 13 Canadian bad-luck Loonies are the key to the Battery victory against the hoser Impact. Back home that would buy 46 Timmy Hortons, but here it just means defeat. Look for more trash talk about the Loonies as the lads are "waiting for the "great leap Northward" (obscure reference) in the coming week.
Here's Josh Smith and his mom enjoying the celebratory mood up the Three Lions, not to mention the improved audio under that massive lid. Man! 6 points on the weekend was great for the boys!
Here's Kevin and Dave mugging for Chris up the Three Lions. Just like Chris to be irritating fine folks while they're trying to enjoy their Boddies.
Here's a photo of the Mcannars. Nothing like hanging out, having some beers ya know.
My apologies for not knowing these folks enjoying the Three Lions, but I thought that the floating cup of Boddington (trust me, I know it's Boddies, I can smell it!) was interesting as well. I can only assume that Chris was having a good time as well.
Man! What a collection of guys here! Former and present Battery players get together for Chris - a shot for the annals. Nigel enjoys the reunion with, Justin Evans, Mark Watson, Stevie Klein and Johnny "There's Only One in DC" Wilson.
Buck and Ismael welcome Angel to the Regiment. Buck Rogers is the official realtor of the Regiment, dontcha know.
Jim in his role as Beerfather says "Let me make you an offer you can't refuse" to his family. Please tell me that ain't no steenking Michelob - unless you lost another crazy bet, that is.
