The Battery vs The New York / New Jersey MetroStars

My apologies for getting this out so late. We were on a family vacation to Nashville. Didn't get to see the Nashville Metros while in Tennessee! It'll take too long to process these pictures and make them look just right, so for now they are unprocessed, and hence somewhat dark. Feel free to download any you like and process them yourself, in the meantime.

Anyway, the easiest way to navigate this page is to click the Back arrow on your browser after viewing each picture.

Another Pitch Shot Not a very good picture, but I'm too damn lazy to trim it at this time. So sue me!
Jean-Baptiste Under The Stands Maybe Gilbert would like to put the proper caption on this picture! I wonder what the little girl is saying to him!
Becca, Steph, And Tasha Steph is my daughter, and is somewhat distraught that these are on the Web site. In fact, she ordered me to take them down. Heh heh, this is Dad's chance to act like a rebellious kid!!!
Billy Billy is either bragging about his high-jumps, or getting ready to chop Rod in the neck. Note the omnipresence of American lagers.
Brandon Brandon knew all along that the Battery would score!
Caroline and Shantika Caught these Fury players on camera in the wild.
Cinco Amigos Aye, they are a motley crew!
Court Jesters I believe these court-jester caps originally represented some Deutsche team. However, the colors match the Battery's quite well. As an added bonus, they make a mockery of the opposing team, something always dear to the heart of the loyal Reggie.
Dang! Missed Another Goal Our match reporter, Jim, holds aloft an autographed Battery ball in token of gratitude for a goal! Dang, I always miss 'em, taking these dang pix!
David, Jayne, Charlene, And Rod A fine shot of a soccer coach, rec soccer managers, and soccer parents, standing behind the goal box.
Dieter Upadek A fine Over-35 soccer player and a fine man.
Doug A little fuzzy, but this is an actual shot of a former Battery Man. Alas, he developed a notable surliness and had to hang up his BM skull-cap. Just kidding! Ow! Ow! Owwww! Note Jayne in the foreground.
Drummer One of our non-stop drummers, and I didn't get his name! We march to his beat.
Ed and Sons Ed and two of his kids. I hope that's not a Guinness the lad is drinkin'!
Ed's Son No, 'twas no Guinness, I can attest to that!
Foosballers David (left) battles for position on the tiny pitch. Flick! Where'd the ball go?!? Oh, in the net.
Greg Greg is a really good player in the Over-35 league.
Gus, Tom, and Andreas Tom, who used to be the head of the Mt. Pleasant Rec Center, is framed by Andreas (right) and his son, Gus.
Jayne and Cindy These soccer moms enjoy watching the game from behind the goal. Jayne is the mother of Steph, and Cindy is the mother of Tasha. Both of their daughters play Classic soccer.
Jeff and Dieu The Obscure The camera strap almost obscures Dieu in this picture. Jeff looks like he's trying to warn me, or else a bee just stung him on his arse.
Jeff: Get Cho Raffle Tickets A scene at the Regiment table under the West stands.
Jerry Jerry plays in the Over-35 League (on Tony's team this season). He has a nassssssty side volley!
Jester Doll This little girl must be the drummer's daughter!
Karl's Drums and Kit Karl, accoutered in full Regiment regalia, drums in time to get the fans going, while Kit helps out with the cow-bell and the rubber chicken.
Livy and Baker Two good soccer players from the Fury Classic girls' team.
Los Tres Muchachos These fellows know that soccer is "the beautiful game".
Megan Megan is an extraordinary, some might say, history-making, soccer coach!
Metrostar Fans The flag is unfurled! Notice the masked man at the left of the flag. Observe that the Regiment respects religions other than its own.
Metrostar Fan Unmasked Aha! The face of the infidel, revealed! May Jehannum be his lot! (Just teasing!)
Mike Another Over-35 player, and a dang good one!
Mike Richmond This youth soccer coach wants another two pints, I'll warrant.
Pacing On The Side Nobody, from the rec level to the highest professional levels, likes sitting out.
Piesner Autographing After the game, under the stands, Brian signs away! It's nice to be appreciated!
Sara and Jenny A nice picture of daughter and mother.
Starting Lineup Here, I wish I had a camera with optical zoom. Sigh. Say! Maybe Tony will buy one!
Steph Is Peeved "What the h*ll is my dad doing here, taking pictures!!??"
Watching Goal In Progress One feels like a storm-chaser, watching a tornado grow.
West Stands At Dusk This picture shows a neat effect in the sky over Blackbaud Stadium.
