Battery Signs Glenn Benjamin.

2/26/2001 - The 2000 Atlantic Division A-League Champions, the Charleston Battery, have signed Trinidad and Tobago midfielder, Glenn Benjamin to the team. Benjamin has played previously in the A-League with the New Orleans Storm. The 28-year-old Gasparillo, Trinidad native is expected to add depth to the Battery midfield and brings considerable experience with him.

"Glenn is a world class player," said Battery Head Coach Alan Dicks. "He's played for the Trinidad and Tobago National Team at U18, U20 and at the Full-National Team level. That kind of experience will certainly help the Battery this season, and I am very pleased to welcome him on-board."

Benjamin is a graduate of the University of Mobile (UM) with a degree in Marketing. As a child, he attended St Benedicts in Trinidad, a school noted for its outstanding soccer program. He has played in the World Youth Cup and while at UM, he was an All-American.
